Product Ratings
James Suckling 90pt

White blossoms with briny notes of nectarines and melon. Crisp, medium-bodied palate featuring a tangy and lightly saline finish. Fresh and well-crafted.

by James Suckling, 2025
Jeb Dunnuck 93pt

An all stainless steel white grown on the producer's monopole at high elevation, the 2024 Albarino Estate Grown is structured and bright, all salty brine and mineral. Extended lees contact provides additional refinement and elegance, with a purity of demure apple, mango, and pineapple flavor. This is a refined, elevated white ready to enjoy now and for another 6-8 years.

Vinous Media 92pt

The 2024 Albarino Fillaboa is from Condado de Tea, Rias Baixas. This is in the riper style of the zone, with white peach, rose and orange blossom aromas on the nose. It is dry, medium-bodied, lightly spritzy and full of flavor.

Terroir

This wine is made with grapes grown in the historical Fillaboa Estate. The 180 acre vineyard lies on rolling slopes, bordering with the Tea and Miño Rivers in the south, forming a natural border with Portugal. The blend is created from 8 of Fillaboa’s plots, boasting the best terroir and highest quality grapes. The soil has a stony, sandy-loam texture and the vines are between 13 and 25 years old.

Vinification

Fillaboa’s winemaking method is based on enhancing the Albariño grape’s primary aromas together with the unique qualities of their “terroir”, resulting in harmonious white wines with good structure. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel vats; the wine is then kept on fine lees until bottling. Finally, tartaric stabilization and slight filtering are carried out, offering fresh and expressive wines.
