The name of this variety comes from the fact that the clusters have very small berries full of concentrated flavor. This variety is popular in both Switzerland and the Aosta Valley, both of which claim paternity. Recent research shows that the original parent vine for this variety is native to the Aosta valley and known as the "Orious".
Terroir
Champorette and Bufferia of Aymavilles, Frissonnière of Saint-Christophe. Area about 6.50 ha, Guyot system; planting 7,500 feet per hectare, cordon and retouch rows. Yield 10,000 kg/ha.
Vinification
Chilling and whole cluster soft pressing of grapes, 12-day fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature (14 °C) and relative ageing “sur lies†for 2 months. Bottling and ageing in the bottle for 3 months.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant, straw yellow. Floral nose (jasmine, peony), with hints of apple, plum and citrus fruits. Taste savory, balanced with mineral nuances.
