Tasting Notes

Deep, vibrant ruby with violet reflections at the rim. Wonderfully expressive, floral, and precise, capturing the classic "Queen of Beaujolais" character. High-toned aromas of fresh violets, red peonies, and wild strawberries burst from the glass, underpinned by dark raspberry and a subtle, smoky, crushed-granite minerality. The partial whole-cluster inclusion adds an attractive touch of white pepper and herbal bramble complexity. Silkiness personified on the palate. It is light-to-medium-bodied but possesses remarkable depth and intensity courtesy of the 80-year-old vines. Pure red cherry, pomegranate, and red currant flavors dominate, framed by fine-grained, elegant tannins and a refreshing, crunchy acidity. The influence of the large foudres provides a seamless texture without imparting heavy oak flavors, leading to a lifted, perfumed, and mineral-flecked finish.
